Gates was one of 3 children, he had two sisters, Libby and Kristianne. At 13, the middle class boy attended the prestigious Lakeside School. Lakeside was where Bill first found his interest in Computers. Later in life Gates studied at Harvard University, in his Junior year Gates dropped out to start Microsoft Corporation, the largest computer software company in the entire world.

As An Adult

The success of windows and Microsoft made Bill Gates one of the Worlds Wealthiest people. From 1995 to 2007 and 2009 he was the wealthiest person in the entire world. With a net worth of 53 billion dollars, Bill Gates decide to use his wealth to help the world. He started the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation This foundation's aim was "to bring innovations in health and learning to the global community."

His mark on Microsoft

Gates spent his 20's and 30's advancing this technology. When Gates launched Windows in 1985, he stated the mission of Microsoft was "To enable people and businesses throughout the world to realize their full potential."In 2000 Gates resigned as CEO of Microsoft but still remained chairman and Chief Software Architect. in 2006 he worked full time at the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, he only worked part time at Microsoft. In 2008 he finished his last day of work at Microsoft and is now the non-executive chairman.

Life for years to come

As time passed Gates became a husband to Melinda Gates and became a father of three children. Currently Bill lives in Washington with his wife and kids. Him and his wife still run the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation and also seek to help the global community. In his free time Bill enjoys golf, reading, and playing bridge.
